Process

The process started from selecting elements/ objects for the pattern, then combing them together as a tile. First versions were handrawn and then digitised on Adobe Illustrator

First line Draft

The first line draft had a single musical instrument - Mridangam and vines with flower derived from the moodboard, we decided that the design needed more musical elements and move away from floral design as it could be distracting.

Hand drawn first coloured draft

First draft of the pattern with all the elements tabla, Mridangam and kuyil all coloured in with colours from the decided colour palatte

Final Design

The Final Design accepted by the business, The designed was fine tuned to be assymetrical and symetrical at the same time, flowers were removed as it led to distraction and vines were added instead to combine the design together
